TruPDF Editor Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 17, 2026
TruPDF Editor ("the app") is made by myGIGlife ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your PDFs stay on your device, we don't run any servers for the app, and we don't collect anything about you.
What stays on your device
- Your PDFs. The app opens a PDF you choose, edits a working copy, and saves the result where you tell it to (Downloads, or a location you pick). The original file is never changed. Your PDFs are never uploaded to us.
- Working copies. Temporary copies used for Undo and Redo are kept in the app's private storage. They are replaced when you open another document, and removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
- Your settings. Your choices in Settings, and your Anthropic API key if you enter one, are stored on your device. The key is encrypted. It is never sent to us.
- No account, no ads, no analytics. The app has no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics or crash-reporting tools. We receive no information from the app.
When information leaves your device
The app only contacts other services when you use a feature that needs them:
- AI instructions (optional, off by default). If you turn on "Use AI for spoken/typed instructions" and enter your own Anthropic API key, the app sends your typed or spoken instruction and the text lines of the page you are working on to Anthropic so it can work out the edit. The PDF file itself is never sent. This goes directly from your device to Anthropic under your own account. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle it. If you leave this off, nothing is sent.
- Font downloads (on by default, can be turned off in Settings). If an edit needs a font character that your PDF doesn't contain, the app may download the font file from Fontsource (a public font service). The request names the font family. Like any web request, it exposes your IP address to that service. It does not include your document or its text.
- Voice input. The microphone button uses your device's built-in speech recognition (usually Google's). The app never records audio itself. It only receives the text that the speech service returns. Your device's speech provider handles the audio under its own privacy policy.
- Printing. To print, the app can find printers on your Wi-Fi network and send the finished PDF directly to the printer you pick. This stays on your local network. The app asks Android to look for printers nearby; it does not collect or store a list of devices.
- Email and sharing. The app hands the finished PDF to the email or sharing app you choose. What happens next is governed by that app. We never see it.
The app does not use the camera and does not request your location, contacts or photos.
What we collect and share
We collect no personal information, and we don't sell or share it. The only third parties that can receive data are the ones in the list above, and only when you use those features.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your choices and deleting your data
Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete. To remove everything the app stores on your device, clear its storage in Android Settings or uninstall it. The app is excluded from Android cloud backup. You can turn off AI instructions and font downloads at any time in Settings. Files you saved to Downloads, emailed or printed are yours and stay where you put them.
Security
PDFs are processed on your device. Network requests use HTTPS. Your API key is stored encrypted on your device.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and publish the new version at the same address. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
